What is a virus?

copies of itself and inserts them into other programs and that usually

What is spyware?
According to Microsoft Spyware is a general term used for software that
performs certain behaviors such as advertising, collecting personal
information, or changing the configuration of your computer, generally
without appropriately obtaining your consent.
In simple term much like a virus it is a program installed on your computer.
The only real difference between spyware and a virus is spyware is not
designed to cause computer problems. However these programs can cause a
number of serious issues.
