Light on DSL modem is green, but I can't surf
If you are connected to a third-party wifi device and use our DSL, but you can't connect to websites or email. Please take these steps.
1. Turn off the power to the DSL modem, the wifi router and your computer.
2. Once all are shut down or powered off, count to about 30 and then turn on only the DSL modem. Wait until DSL syncs. This can take 3-4 minutes.
3. Once the DSL light is solid green, turn on your wifi router. Wait at least a minute or two for the wifi router to acquire an IP address from the DSL modem.
4. Now turn on your computer or device.
If you still are not able to connect to the Internet using your device, and it has the ability to be directly connected to the DSL modem using an ethernet cable, try connecting it that way to test. If you are able to connect to the Internet while directly connected to the DSL modem, then the problem may be with the wifi router. We suggest repeating steps 1-4 above, but increasing wait times between turning on each device.
Example: ZyXEL P-600 series DSL modem with solid green DSL light.
